Where The Wild Things Are
By: Maurice Sendak
Sendak, M. (1963). Where the wild things are. New York: Harper & Row.
Summary:
This story is about a young boy who is in his bedroom at home, but then all of the sudden he is in the wild surrounded by wild things. He explores different parts of the wild with his new friends and has a magical journey, before returning to his normal bedroom.
This book is great for students with an awesome imagination. I loved feeding off of this book when I was younger and having my own adventures in the wild, in the comfort of my own home. It is a great book to read aloud to children in the primary grades especially,
Below is a link to the movie trailer. It would be a nice idea to read kids the story then show them the movie and let them compare the two.
