When Sophie Gets Angry won the Caldecott Honor Book Award and the Charlotte Zolotow Award in 2000. 

The Charlotte Zolotow Award is for outstanding writing in a picture book. 

This book is about a young girl who gets in a disagreement with her sister and gets very upset.  She is very angry, so she runs away and climbs up a tree.  When she is in the tree she is alone and is able to see the world around her.  She becomes at peace, and returns home no longer angry.

The illustrations in this book are wonderful. They capture your eye and the colors make you feel the emotions that Sophie feels throughout the book.  The illustrations are animated and do not have many lines.
